Various aspects of metering within the process industry align well with other industrial sectors. Hydrocarbon feedstocks present similar issues to those faced by the Oil and Gas sector. The high temperatures and pressures of many production facilities raise issues more akin to those of steam metering in the Power industry. The metering of viscous and non-Newtonian products and the need to prevent contamination present the metering engineer with challenges similar to those faced by the food industry. As a result, contact between the current programme and the process sector is divided between the following focus groups.
